March Madness.... That's the only way to describe the work happening at the Heritage House. Walls are coming down, cabinets are going up and its been a whirlwind of excitement! Before all the fun began there we had to address some of the less fun work...
The foundation, the basis or groundwork of anything. Significant thought and investment was made to ensure this home would last another 100 years.
Let's start at the top... the roof that is.
These pictures say it all. This past fall the roof was in desperate need of a makeover. The professionals at LINC Roofing & Contracting were able to squeeze us in before the winter weather became too brutal. They worked to remove the old shingles, gutters and downspouts, fixed the weak spots in the roof and installed new chimney flashing, underlayment and IKO Dynasty shingles. The roof comes with a transferable warranty so the new owner will have peace of mind.

The remainder of the exterior work will continue this spring.

The first issue we had to address in the interior was the dark and damp basement.
The experts at TC Foundations had just the solution. In the crawl space they reinforced the foundation with posts and added a vapor barrier for moisture control. Then they went to work on the French drains with two sump pumps. The cold wet winter we had was the perfect time for us to put this system to the test. Since installation we have had a dry and safe basement. It's a good thing too because we installed a new furnace and hot water heater for the new owner to have peace of mind.
Over the coming weeks the interior will get a whole new makeover. We are excited to share the progress. Make sure to follow us on Instagram for all our beautiful updates.
