… were one for the record books in Pittsburgh. Our hometown of Oakdale was no exception. The flooding in the area made national news. With record high water levels and weather emergency alerts our town knew we were in for a difficult time. What never ceases to amaze me is how after a natural disaster a community comes together to support one another. So how could you not love Oakdale?
Not knowing what Western PA’s weather would hold for us; we are more than thrilled with the investment made to waterproof the Heritage House basement. Vapor barriers and French drains are not as much fun as light fixtures and quartz countertops, but the peace of mind that comes with having a dry basement goes a long way. For that we are very grateful to Tim and the crew at TC Foundations for all their hard work to ensure the Heritage House will remain dry.

Through the wet April month progress continued with Nik, Cory, and Alex at Nik’s Property Solutions LLC where our vision was brought to life. For safety’s sake, the roof of the front porch was removed (much easier than expected), which also allowed more natural light into the dining and living rooms. The walls in the front entry way were removed to allow great flow throughout the first floor. The kitchen…I won’t ruin the surprise but just wait until you see the kitchen transformation! Carefully selected details and finishes will be found throughout, blending new modern amenities with original charm.

Next month we will be working with Mighty Girl Media to bring you the final transformation. We are so proud of all the work that has been done and are honored to be able to invest in our hometown.
We want to give Nik, Cory, and Alex from Nik’s property solutions a special thanks. They provided great quality work and were wonderful to work with!
